Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known by her highly commendable performances in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The movie Piano earned her numerous awards including an Oscar. At a young age, the accomplished actress began performing on stage in a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. She has always had an interest in acting ever since when she was in the high school. Her debut role in a play in fifth grade was Helen Keller. She became deaf in one ear following a bout of the mumps virus, however she did not let this disability dampen her desire to be an actor. In her teens she studied drama, and then moved in New York City. Hunter made her Broadway debut after an unplanned encounter with Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. Following her move from Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered a supporting role for the role of a supporting character in Swing Shift. Over the past three decades Holly Hunter has been on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as her Women in Film Lucy Award.
